   How much weight did you end up losing? - In total 303 pounds. 

Naturally. - Healthy eating and working out hard, that's all it took. I thought about it before, and I thought I always thought I was happy. I would tell everybody, oh yeah I'm fine, I'm happy.

 But now, seeing the way I am, I wasn't happy back then and now I'm just ready, I'm ready to live and to adventure. -

  This is today's doctor's prescription. Just turn down your music. A recent study found, loud music encourages unhealthy food choices. 

 Researchers at the University of South Florida, tested people in a cafe , they found that softer music lead to healthier food choices. Then they looked at grocery store shoppers, and found the louder the music, that led to unhealthy purchases.

  I wonder if this is when you walk into certain stores, the music's blasting, if these people know subconsciously there's louder music that you're just gonna buy more. - Well I think you make poor choices. So the premise of this study was that, quieter music sort of relaxes you and therefore you have a better decision making.

 And so they actually tried it with different types of music too, and it really wasn't so related to the type of music it was just the volume, that apparently- - Well yeah, I mean if the music above is up it's more a party atmosphere you're gonna your guard is gonna be down, you're gonna think differently. Sub sandwich is a lunchtime favorite. 


 I know it's one of my favorites but, in my doctor's prescription, I want you to think outside the bread when making your favorite sandwich instead of the bread, use cucumber. How do we do it? 

 

  First peel the cucumber right, slice it in half then you scoop out the center of that cucumber so to make a little canoe out of it right, and then pick whatever you want as your go to toppings to do the filling inside. You can make it a vegan little cucumber sandwich or more traditional with little turkey and cheese, all up to you and I have a couple pre-made. - Yes. - Cucumber subs here. - Shall we? - Yeah. - Do it. - One is a Mediterranean veggie, and then the other one, this is the classic turkey and cheese. - Not bad. - Roughly 150 less calories than the traditional bread. What do you think? - Absolutely yeah, I actually throw cucumbers in a smoothie usually in the mornings, that is hydrating so obviously after fasting for so long during the night when you sleep, it's good to get hydrate in the morning throw in a cucumber in your smoothie, and now you can make a sandwich. - Time for my doctor script, okay? - 


 This 'll great. - But there is an important ingredient - Okay. - May help with weight loss, I actually have to confess I grew up eating these all the time. My mom literally almost every morning for breakfast, prunes. - Really, I'm a prune fan. - Yeah, and according to study, researchers found that those who are given prunes during their 12 week weight loss journey, experience greater weight loss overall and had an increased feeling of fullness, which makes sense. Prune's a lot of fiber. - I was gonna say, when you eat prunes you do fill up quickly. Is there anything else in here? - This is loaded right herewith, wait wait hold on. This is some pruney, peanut butter smoothie goodness that we're drinking right here. - And this is good, this is awesome. This really is good. - 


 You know what we're gonna call this? This is going to be your smooth Move smoothie. Dietary copper, the kind you find in foods we know and love nuts, seeds, leafy greens, mushrooms, even our fav dark chocolate, could help boost weight loss. A new study from the University of California Berkeley found that copper can actually help when it comes to your body torching fat. And instead of putting a photo of your dog, your friends, a pretty sunset, post pictures of the things that you want to wear competently. Your wedding dress, a bikini, make that your water bottle that you carry with you all day, So it's not just something you're seeing on the treadmill, you're using it at your desk in your car. 


 So that big picture goal of yours is constantly at the front of your mind. - That's not the only one. - No. - We've round two. - Number two involves money and being rewarded, which everybody loves. This is a sweat stash, and what you wanna do is promise yourself that every single time you exercise, you're gonna stuff $5 in there, and then give yourself an end date, two months, three months, and then when that date hits, you get to take out all the cash and you get to reward yourself with something to celebrate all your hard work. - This is a really cool food, It's well known outside the US catching on recently because it has some potential Weight Loss Benefits. 

 This is Kamut. This is known as a high energy wheat alternative. Kamut is a perfect addition to a healthy diet. It's a great grain, high in fiber and protein. I was looking here, in one serving you got seven grams of protein, four grams of dietary fiber. A European journal of clinical nutrition study even found that eating the grain can reduce cholesterol, blood sugar and inflammation. So I always tell people, when it comes to whole grains, there's more out there than just whole wheat and brown rice. So go to your grocery store, walk down that aisle, try some new ones. 


 This is a really cool one and more and more stores are putting it on the shelves. - Does it come from the Middle East? - Yep. - What everyday easy swap can help you cut that sugar intake? well replace dried fruit with fresh fruit, dried fruit loses volume, but keeps the same amount of calories and sugars. So one ounce of raisins has 17 grams of sugar versus one grape, which has just five grams of sugar. 


 So today's tip is simple, instead of adding dried fruits to your salad for the fresh ones, less sugar, more volume, more fiber. It's all good, right? - And this is one of the single most important concepts in long term weight control. So it is really critically important to have high volume, because you wanna feel full.
