There are too many myths about fitness that scare many people to start their fitness journey. The number of myths about fitness is much more than any other thing because fitness is directly related to our health or life. This is the reason why we always hear about fitness myths.

   These all myths are wrong but people easily believe them because they are directly linked to our health. And nobody can take any risk to their health. 

   So today we will talk about 7 very common myths and will understand their truth.



Myth 1: Exercise will lead to quick weight loss.

Truth : Exercise can help you lose weight, but losing weight requires a healthy diet with exercise. The number of extra calories you burn when exercising can be misleading. These exercises are best to start easily your fitness journey.

  For example, walking running a mile burns about 100 calories – but sitting still for the same amount of time burns 50 – 60 calories. The real weight-loss benefits from exercise come from increasing your metabolism as you build muscle, as well as added calories burned as you add intensity and duration.


Myth 2: Sweating means losing weight.

Truth : Many people think that mote sweating equals weight loss. In truth, sweat is just the body’s way of cooling your body and balancing the internal body temperature. More sweat may be the result of an overheated gym or the beating sun and can be a warning to you that you’re overdoing it.


Myth 3: Exercise in the morning is best.

Truth : Doing work out in the morning or evening doesn't matter, the thing which matters for your fitness is consistency. 

The one advantage of exercising in the morning of course is that you are free for the rest of the day to do other things and don’t need to think of hitting the gym later in the day.

   But always remember that Time is secondary and Consistency is primary.


Myth 4: It’s dangerous to start an exercise directly at your adult age.

Truth : It’s never too late to focus on your fitness. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that seniors who exercised were likely to live longer and healthier, even if they started later in life. The older you are, though, the more cautious you should be. Consultation with a doctor is necessary before starting any exercise routine at your adult age.


Myth 5: Pain means good fitness.

Truth : Experiencing pain all the time doesn't mean your workouts are going great. Pain at the end of the day could be a signal of injury and you should get it checked by a professional immediately to serious injuries.


Myth 6: Thin person is fit.

Truth : Fit means you have a strong and healthy heart, lungs, muscles, bones and joints. If someone is thin or at a normal weight doesn't mean that he or she can run a long-distance or lift weights. Regular physical activity and a balanced diet is the key which can help you stay healthy and prevent diseases.


Myth 7: Evening meals increases the risk of being overweight

Truth : Total intake a day of calories matters not when you eat. If you eat 2000 kcal in 2 meals and others eat 2000 kcal in 5 meals, it will have the same effect on the body. Time is not concerned.
