Best Free Health And Fitness Apps In 2021

In today's article we are going to be going over the best apps for health and fitness. The apps we are going to be talking about today. I use all of them personally every day. They have become a big part of my routine and each and every one of them has helped me to improve my overall health.

So in today's article i'm going to be going over the best seven app tell you a little bit about them what i like about them and how i use them hey guys welcome back to my channel if you're new here my name is kait i'm a health coach and i post articles on a high fat nutrient dense way of eating if you like this article please give it a thumbs up feel free to share and make sure to subscribe and make sure to follow me on instagram twitter and facebook where i share new posts every single day all of the apps years m going to be talking about today are available on both android and apple and in case you are wondering i am a proud android user i think the last time i had an apple product was over five years ago i switched to android and never looked back best decision i ever made but anyways i did check to make sure that all of the apps i used are available on apple as well and they all were sosome of the apps we're going to talk about today are free and some of them are paid so we will cover all of that as we go through zero the first app i'm going to talk about today is one app that i am asked about pretty frequently i think because i showed it in a couple of my what i eat in a day article this app is called zero fasting tracker and it is an intermittent fasting tracking app it is a free app to download and use but there is also a paid version with some additional features that is 17 a month.

Personally i only use the free version i don't really see a need is to upgrade to the premium the app has four main tools a fasting timer where you can set your fasting goal and see how far into that goal you have gotten there is a section called learn where you can read articles and research on fasting statistics where you can get an overview of your fasting history and also keep track of your weight and measurements and then there's a journal where you can take notes about how you felt during your fast i basically just use the app to track my fasts start the timer stop the timer the app is really simple to use and that's what i like about it simple habit simple habit is a meditation app that i used every single day it is free to download and use but with the free version you don't get access to the full meditation library you have to upgrade to premium for that and a premium membership cost you twelve dollars per month do a five minute meditation first thing in the morning when i wake up at first this was a really hard habit to get into i went through periods over the last couple of years where i meditated for months at a time and then i would stop for months at a time but i've been in a really great routine for about the last six months

Now and it has become a lot easier i meditate first thing in the morning so i can start my day with intention and not reaction i won't go too much into the benefits of meditation but some of the reasons i personally do it are to manage stress to practice gratitude to help me become more present and to increase my focus and productivity and i think you're gonna notice a trend here i love apps that are simple if there are too many features and too many things that it wants me to tracknot about that so i've used a few meditation apps over the years for right now i'm really liking simple habits they have this really cool on the go feature where you can click how long you have and what situation you are currently in and it picks a meditation for youso you don't have to spend time scrolling and for this appi do have the premium membership and i think it is totally worth it like i said i use this app every single day elevate this is a fun one elevate is a brain training app that has a free version and also a paid version for five dollars per month elevate is made to help you improve your reading writing and math skills through over 35 games every day it has a daily training for you made up of five games you play the games you get a score and the games will get progressively more difficult based on your results the first reason i really like this app is that the games are fun i love word puzzles and things of that sort the math games not so much but i will say that i have seen improvements in my math and also my reading and writing since i've been using this app when you make a mistake it actually pauses to explain to you what you got wrong.

So if you picked a wrong word it will tell you the definition or if you got a division question wrong it will break down how to answer the equation in the easiest way and you can also go back and see your mistakes after the game is completed and my vocabulary has expanded significantly as well and this might be my favorite app out of the bunch at least right now i usually wake up i do my meditation i do some journaling and then i do my brain training for the day so yes for this one i do have the premium membership and i think it is completely worth it stravastrava is an app that i have been using for probably over five years maybe even six years

It's kind of like a social media app for fitness it's free to download the app and to create an account but there is an option to upgrade to a premium account for seven dollars a month it's mainly geared at endurance workouts you can track your bike ride or your run straight from the appor you can upload a workout from another tracking device or app you use it measures your speed your heart rate if you have a monitor your elevation etc and one of the coolest things about itis the segment feature people can create segments on the map and if you run or bike on the segments you can see how your time compares to others this pushes you to want to get faster and motivates you can also plan and map out your routes for yourself sleep cycle now this is an app that i actually don't use myself but my boyfriend uses it and i think it can be beneficial for a lot of people right now this app is entirely free this app is a sleep tracking app that does not require a wearable device you have your phone next to your bed plugged in and sleep cycle uses sound analysis to identify sleep states

Now i don't think months sleep tracking is particularly accurate based on how it works but what i do really like about this app is the alarm you can set an approximate time that you want to wake up and it will sound the alarm sometime during that period when you are in your lightest phase of sleep waking up during light sleep will give you the advantage of being more energetic and alert when you wake up during deep sleep this is when you can feel groggy and want to roll back over after pressing the snooze button now i personally have no problem waking up naturally and pretty much jumping out of bed but my boyfriend not so much so he has been using this app for a few weeks now and absolutely loves it oueraand next up we have the aura app now this is another sleep tracker but the thing here the app it's totally free but you do have to have the device and the oura ring carries a pretty steep price tag i actually just did a review on the auraring a couple of weeks ago after using it for two years

So if you want to know more about this specifically and how it works all that you can check out this article afterwards but the gist of it is the oura ring is a sleep tracking device you wear on your finger and this really accurately tracks not only your sleep cycles but your heart rate your heart rate variability your movement your body temperature and more and even though this one isn't just an app it's an app and a device i had to throw it in here because if you are really serious about improving your sleep andin turn your overall health this is a game changer and i really like this app because yes the device does track and analyze a lot of data but it's presented in a way that's easy to understand and to act upon whoop and finally we have whoop now once again this isn't just an app it's an app and a wearable device but unlike the aura ring the device is actually free you just have to pay for subscription for the app and the subscription is 24 a month

So i actually just started using this about two weeks ago and i'm already in love similar to the oura ring the whoop band tracks sleep but it also tracks exercise and activity and recovery more in depth than the aura ring do and honestly this app is fantastic and that can help you to figure out how to train each day it gives you a recovery score percentage which can help you figure out how to train so throughout the day it will also track your stress and your activity and give you a strain score and this is on a scale of 1 to 21.

Ideally you want to keep your strain score below your recovery score so if you are better recovered you can train harder unlike aura this app is very complex it gives you a lot of stats and details about your sleep your exercise and your recovery i'm going to do a full review on the whoop band in the next couple of months so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss that but so far my conclusion is that the oura ring is better for tracking sleep and the whoop band is better for tracking fitness and recovery and those are my top seven apps for health and fitness let me know in the comment section down below if there are any other health apps that you find particularly beneficial
